Converse Jack Purcell CP Ox
The Converse Jack Purcell is a simple and timeless sneaker that will always be in fashion. Named after the Canadian badminton world champion Jack Purcell, they were designed and produced by the B.F. Goodrich Company of Canada in 1935. The original design featured an encapsulated toe, canvas upper and a rubber outsole. In 1972 Converse purchased B.F. Goodrich's rubber division and altered the design slightly with the addition of metal eyelets and a thicker inner sole. Now, the Converse Jack Purcell is available in a wide array of materials, colors and designs.

Classic understated style

Classic look, and comfortable for a thin soled sneaker, thanks to the foam insole. Nice details, such as the lace toggles matching the Purcell logo. The only downer is that I have to order them from the US, I can't get them in the UK. I looked for this plain classic black canvas shoe all over the place, but the UK seems to only import more colourful or special edition pairs. Overall, I got them in the UK for just under £50, which is good value, the highstreet charges £55-60.

The Slip features an ingenious built-in support beneath the tongue to give you a nice snug fit without the constrictions of tying things up.
