Here is Kobe Bryant’s fifth signature sneaker from Nike, the Nike Zoom Kobe V. They are his lowest and lightest signature sneaker to date. In fact, the Nike Zoom Kobe V is currently the lightest basketball sneaker on the market. And, it’s also one of the most durable. They feature a sculpted heel counter that keeps your feet sliding, an enhanced outrigger that provides superior stability, heat-bonded overlays, and Zoom Air in the heel and forefoot for cushioning. Sleek soccer cleats were the inspiration for the Zoom Kobe V design. And, Nike reinforced key sections to ensure maximum support in all the right places while on the hardwood.
The Nike Zoom Kobe IV was arguably the best and most innovative professional basketball sneaker for the 2008-09 season. Weighing in at 10.6 ounces, the Nike Zoom Kobe V instantly becomes the lightest Nike professional basketball shoe ever created. This shoe definitely goes in the opposite direction of any basketball sneaker to date. It draws most of its inspiration from the soccer field. Some of its distinctive features include phylon midsole and a low profile for responsive cushioning, herringbone traction, glass fiber for extreme arch support and a flywire design composed of TPU skin that is half the weight and makeup of the original flywire design. One cannot argue that this is definitely a highly-detailed basketball sneaker. It obviously possesses the well-recognized Lakers color scheme, but its texture makeup and design set this shoe apart from many. Its most distinctive feature lies on the side panels as mentioned before where a covered flywire design appears. It also owns a new, shiny, scale-like material throughout the mid-foot and toe area. Other distinctive features include Kobe’s number 24 at the front of the sole and a mesh-like pattern located on the collar area. Continue Reading...

the zoom kobe 5 is the only basketball shoe out right now that gives me amazing support, freedom, comfort, and court feel all in one. this shoe is so light that i forget i'm wearing anything at all when i play. the entire construction of the shoe makes it feel like it's an extension of my feet which all basketball players should experience. the type of material of the upper doesn't crease at all, even after hours of wear and tear on the court.

Very light weight and sleek design, was a bit hesitate on this shoe since it a bit lower then the IV but with thefly wire technology it definetly adds support to your foot/ankle. No complains here.

Kobe is a master of the craft. He works harder then anyone in the game with Nike to create his line. He understands that besides his talent his kicks are his only tool of the game. On these he said he needed the lightest shoe ever and needed more motion. He worked with Nike to produce these beasts. So low many worried about them being a problem but I can assure you they have as good of ankle support as a hightop. Also they are so light it will feel like you have a Nike Free on. Awsome ballin shoe.
