Air Jordan Spiz'ike
The Air Jordan Spiz'ike is the ultimate mash up. Jordan Brand fused the Air Jordan III, Air Jordan IV, Air Jordan V and the Air Jordan VI models to create one unique design. The Spiz'ike pays tribute to Jordan's beloved commercial sidekick Mars Blackmon, played by Spike Lee. Jordan and Mars starred in many commercials that not only set the foundation for the Jordan Brand, but accelerated its popularity around the world with the phrase, "Is it the shoes?"
It is quite clear by now that the Jordan Brand plans to pick up in 2010 where it left off with all the momentum of 2009's end. When it comes to the Air Jordan Spiz'ike, you don't even have to look past the name of the model to figure out where their inspiration came from. Spike Lee has been linked with the Air Jordan line since the 80's, from the infamous scuffed Air Jordan IV scene in his film, Do The Right Thing, to the beloved Mars Blackmon ad campaign and more. Now, Jordan Brand will honor Spike further with this special Mars Blackmon edition of the Air Jordan Spiz'ike. The retro basketball shoe draws multiple color scheme inspirations from the Air Jordan 3 "True Blue", the Air Jordan 3 "Cement" and the Air Jordan 3 "Fire Red". This retro basketball shoe features a predominately white leather upper with touches of black, fire red, and blue, as well as some original grey elephant print on the heel. To add some extra Spike-related touches, the retro kicks also sport a "Do You Know?" on the inner lining, a Mars lace lock, and a Mars Blackmon illustration on the insole along with the tag line, "Fresh Since 1985? printed below. I use these for basketball and casual wear. The best part of these retro basketball sneakers are the different colors and textures, which are obviously inspired by previous classic retro Air Jordan's. I think its the highlight of these sneakers are how they incorporate the Mars Blackmon characters. My fav pair of Air Jordan Spizkes so far!
