Part of the "Johnny Kilroy" pack, this special edition Air Jordan IX is named after a character created by Nike's ad agency after Michael Jordan's first retirement. The popular campaign featured a "disguised" Jordan still playing basketball as "Johnny Kilroy." This model features a combination black nubuck and metallic platinum leather upper, "4" on the heel (Kilroy's jersey number), "Johnny Kilroy" tongue tag, and the phrase "Kilroy Kicks Butt" embroidered under the tongue/on the footbed (taken from a sign in the ad).

These are fresh and a must cop. Kilroy is a great story and these kicks are perfect. I also copped the rest of the pack but these are the ones I prize the most.

LOL!!! My alltime favorite Jordan commercial and now finally a shoe to commemorate it and the devistating time of Jordans 1st retirement. This shoe was a sleeper for some heads. Its going to be one of thoses pair of J's 5-6 years down the road where your goin to say"Damn I should've cop'd those!" if you haven't already done so and you know there"s a good chance these may never retro again and if they do it's probably gonna be 23 years later?

Pros:

The "Johnny Kilroy" on the front of the tongue
"Kilroy Kicks Butt" logo inside the tongue
The #4 on the back of the shoe (favorite part) makes it just that much more rarer.

Cons:

That it didn't come with sort of memorbilia. A Kilroy Kicks Butt shoe tag or Jumpman dog tag with pullouts (like what came with the dub zeros and 1st round spizikes) with all the different Kilroy players in it, or the Motorboat Jones/Johnny Kilroy commercials on a dvd. Ijust think it should've come with a lil something extra.
