Although the first Air Jordan XI Low release of 2014 featured a new colorway with faux green snakeskin, Jordan Brand went back to the archives for the second Air Jordan XI Low release. Originally seen on Jordan's feet during the Chicago Bulls 1996 championship parade, the Air Jordan XI Low "Concord" sports a classic colorway with white Cordura upper, wraparound black patent leather detail, carbon fiber shank plate, and blue-tinted icey translucent sole. Following his first three-peat, on October 6, 1993 Michael Jordan shocked the world and announced his retirement from basketball. To add to the surprises, he then began to pursue a career in baseball. In 1994, Jordan played for the Birmingham Barons (a Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox), the team that inspired both of these retro models.
