Nike "Engineered Mesh"

 Nike

Walking the fine line between updating a classic model, while still staying true to the original design is something Nike has mastered. We have already see a molded Vac Tech upper on the Air Force 1, seamless Hyperfuse construction on Air Max models, and Zoom Air implemented into the Nike Dunk. Next up for Nike, "Engineered Mesh." Lighter and stronger than traditional mesh, Engineered Mesh was first used on performance running sneakers. It has the capability to be constructed with varying perforation patterns, which allows for "zoned" construction. Not only does that mean that tighter patterns can be used on the upper where durability is needed, and looser patterns where ventilation is key, but it also adds a lot of design versatility. Check out Nike's latest innovation on classic Air Max models, including the Air Max 1, Air Max 95, and Air Max 97 now at Sneakerhead.
