When the Air Jordan II was released in 1986 they were considered the most refined basketball sneaker ever made. The Air Jordan II was originally manufactured in Italy, featured a faux lizard skin upper, "Wings" logo on the tongue, and they were available in both high- and low-top models. Since 1986 the Air Jordan II has been re-released many times, and is currently available in multiple colorways.
This new colorway is definitely one that original fans should come to love. Though lacking the fanfare of the Air Jordan VI (6) and Air Jordan IX (9) retros, the Air Jordan II (2) retro basketball shoe is certainly having a good year of releases. We've seen the Bulls-colorway edition, the Silver Anniversary edition in stark white and silver, and the Premio Bin 23 edition, among a few others, and now fans of this model get a chance to get their hands on a slickly-styled university blue and black model. Featuring a mixture of materials like suede and pebbled leather, the upper appears in mostly the shade of blue that Jordan knew well while at University of North Carolina. Black accents appear throughout the upper and on the heel and midsole. This model also boasts an icy blue outsole to add to the intrigue. It's an extremely comfortable shoe with a color that demands attention. It's always good when you're one of the first people with this shoe. I wore them to the mall a day before they were in stores, and so many were breaking their necks to get a closer look.
