The Nike Blazer "Zebra" for women is the other half of the most recent animal-themed release from Nike. Also recently released is the women's Nike Court Force "Cheetah" and several men's models originally called the "Beast" Pack or the "Animal" Pack. This animal-style model is the classic Nike Blazer Mid style worn by George Gervin, but the faux zebra hair upper brings a very unique twist to this old style shoe. Released in 1972, the Nike Blazer was one of the first basketball sneakers Nike ever created. They were designed to compete with Converse and Adidas sneakers that were dominating the court, and feature a simple design with a large Nike Swoosh, and an outsole that is fused to the upper. Today you won't find the Blazer on the hardwood, but the classic design still remains extremely popular for casual wear.
