Nike has taken an interest in age old textiles. In June of 2004, sportwear giant, Nike designed a new line of sneakers to feature the famous Harris Tweed fabric, a handwoven wool fabric from Scotland. The amount that they ordered would have taken two years for a weaver to complete the nearly 10,000 metres required for this line of shoes.
