Designed by famous Jordan brand designer Tinker Hatfield, the Nike Air Raid has a double strap system that while meant to be purely for style, actually holds the foot quite secure. It is rumored that these Nike basketball shoes were originally intended to be an outdoor version of the Jordan VIII / Retro 8, but this seems unlikely because the shoe was initially called the "Air Jack" prior to production. The release of the Nike Air Raid in 1992 at the same time as Spike Lee's movie Malcom X had led people to speculate that this was a deliberate design feature becuase Spike Lee has occasionally been associated with Jordan shoes. In 1993, the Air Raid was discontinued and the Air Raid II was released. The Air Raid II featured more colorful and extravagant decorating than its predecessor. One model featured a peace sign on the strap and displayed the slogan "Play Together, Live Together". The Nike Air Raid was reissued in 2003 with five special editions: two editions for the Nike Battleground series and three that were only released in the Real Mad Hectic store in Japan.

This is my second time ordering from them and it was just as smooth as the first time. Not to mention they had rare valentine day edition dunks in the perfect size. Prices were cheaper with shipping then other sites with just the shoes without shipping. Will continue to purchase and tell friends. Thanks again.
