Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers are an American original. Converse created the first basketball shoe - the grandfather of all athletic shoes to follow. In 1923, Chuck taylor, an all-star professional basketball player from Akron, worked with Converse to imporve their shoes and the game of basketball. For the rest of his life, Chuck Taylor served as the Ambassador of Basketball for Converse, traveling across America to inspire youth, coach basketball clinics, and spread his love for the game and Converse shoes. Converse may have disappeared completely if not for the saving grace of Nike who bought the failing company in 2003 and put their innovative designers to work. These classics are the same great sneakers with the most basic technology, but are available wild new colors, styles, and materials. ""I've purchased shoes from sneaker head on two occasions. The first time I asked my Uncle to buy me the Halloween Dunks 07' and the second time I bought a pair of dunks and chucks. I have to say that the prices are amazing. If you love shoes and have pretty small feet, then you'll love the selection of dunks they have for kids, they're always cheap and on sale. The original price of the halloween dunks we 64 and they went down to 42 i think. Then the black dunks I bought were originally 50 something and I got them for 35. Plus you get free shipping when you order two or more shoes. I would say that the customer service people weren't as welcoming and enthusiastic, but they were sufficient which i why i gave them a 3. GREAT WEBSITE FOR SNEAKER HEADS!""
